National Survey of Research Commercialisation5th May 2016 | News | Australian Federal Government Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA)
The National Survey of Research Commercialisation (NSRC) survey collects data on the research collaboration and commercialisation activities of Australia’s publicly funded research organisations. This includes universities, publicly funded research agencies and medical research institutes. The collection now spans 2000-14.
Dr Kevin Cullen, Vice-Chair of Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia and CEO of UNSW Innovations noted “the latest data shows university/industry engagement happens in many ways, most of them bigger and more effective than commercialisation”.
High level indications from the data indicate that
- Company creation has fallen significantly
- Commercialisation activity remains stable, and
- Industry partnerships have grown significantly
